Why Us?
Our project teams are led by Kevin Houchin, the President and Founder of Applied Workforce Logistics. Houchin has over 20 years experience leading complex initiatives from concept through strategy, business modeling, implementation, and evaluation. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Iowa College of Law where his studies focused on what he describes as “the business of creativity.” Houchin also served as a Principal Strategist focused on Workforce Readiness for ACT, Inc.
In Houchin’s work with ACT he initiated and managed national-level relationships with leading industry organizations such as The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), The National Restaurant Association and its Education Foundation (NRA and NRAEF), CompTIA, ToolingU-SME, The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), SkillsUSA, Junior Achievement, and Envision. Houchin was also a founding member of the national Coalition for Career Development managed through The Global Pathways Institute at Arizona State University.
